Od roku 1983 Instytut Koniunktur i Cen Handlu Zagranicznego, obecnie Instytut Badań Rynku, Konsumpcji i Koniunktur, jako jedyny polski instytut, jest pełnoprawnym członkiem Stowarzyszenia Europejskich Instytutów Koniunktury Gospodarczej (AIECE). Członkami AIECE jest 35 renomowanych instytutów z Europy Zachodniej i Środkowej. Instytut współpracuje również z Chińską Akademią Handlu Zagranicznego i Współpracy Gospodarczej Chin (CAITEC of MOFTEC) i z Akademią Nauk w Moskwie (Russian Academy of Scienses Institute for International Economic and Political Studies) oraz z Rosyjskim Instytutem Koniunktur w Moskwie (VNIKI).

Od kilku lat Instytut jest członkiem Polskiego Stowarzyszenia Badań Wspólnot Europejskich (PECSA).
