IBRKK - Institute for Market, Consumption and Business Cycles Research

Please note that as of 1 January 2007, pursuant to the Regulation of the Minister of Economy of 21 December 2006 (Dz. U. 2006 No. 245, item 1787), the former Foreign Trade Research Institute (IKCHZ) has merged with the former Institute of Home Market and Consumption (IRWiK). The new institute's name is Institute for Market, Consumption and Business Cycles Research.

The Foreign Trade Research Institute had been in existence since 1969, continuing the tradition of the Economic Trends Research Institute, established in 1928 and directed Professor Edward Lipiński, one of the most eminent Polish economists. The Institute had the status of research and development unit. It conducted research in the area of foreign trade and world economy. The founding authority of IKCHZ was the Minister of Economy.

The Institute of Home Market and Consumption was a scientific, research and consulting entity with more than 50-year scientific achievements and experience in researching the market processes and phenomena and in projecting developments in managing enterprises, particularly those belonging to the sector of SMEs. The Institute was one of the initiators of carrying out empirical market surveys in Poland aimed at the three meritorious areas: consumption and consumer in the market, market-oriented enterprise and marketing instruments.
